What is Portfolio Finance?

A Portfolio Mortgage is a financial product designed for landlords who own multiple buy-to-let properties. This type of mortgage allows landlords to consolidate all their property mortgages into a single loan, managed under one account and with one monthly payment. Typically, a portfolio mortgage is used for landlords with at least four properties, although it can technically start with as few as two. This structure simplifies financial management and provides clearer oversight of income and expenditures, treating the portfolio as a business entity. Portfolio mortgages are optional but offer a streamlined solution for managing property investments.
